Rule of Law - the Sherrie Le Case, Day 4

Proceedings for Thursday 11/30 began at 10:00 AM as Judge Gearin earlier attended to other duties as Assistant Chief Judge. Councilperson Rossbach and former Assistant Finance Director Gayle Bauman testified. Sherrie Le briefly returned to the stand to offer additional testimony concerning loss of income and other damages, after which her attorney Gregg Corwin rested the plaintiff's case.

Defense attorney Julie Fleming-Wolfe moved for a directed verdict on both the whistleblower and PELRA counts. Both motions were denied.

As it was 4:00PM and the defense had no brief witnesses, court was recessed until 9:00AM Tuesday, the only day next week available to all parties. The expected defense witness list includes City Manager Copeland, Mayor Longrie, Councilpersons Hjelle and Cave, and Citizen Services Manager Karen Guilfoile.

Later today I expect to post at least the beginnings of a summary of the substance of the case.
