Diana Longrie announced her candidacy for state representative without trills or fanfare, but it still caused quite a stir.

"I'm just surprised," [incumbent Leon] Lillie says. "I didn't know she was a Democrat."

Longrie has never been closely associated with the DFL - in fact, she was a keynote speaker at the 2007 Minnesota Libertarian Party Convention.
