Controversial Maplewood mayor sets sights on state House seat
Maplewood Mayor Diana Longrie announced this week that she is running for the District 55A seat in the Minnesota House of Representatives.
...
If elected, Longrie would resign her post as Maplewood mayor -- in which she has drawn much attention.
...
Lillie, who received the DFL endorsement, said that Longrie's filing came as a surprise and that he didn't see her at the March caucus.
"She's an attorney, and I think she's sharp," Lillie said. "So much of what we do here at the Capitol is working with people and working together. I guess I was a little surprised because I don't consider that one of her strengths."
