Letters To The Editor / That's leadership?

That's leadership? It's particularly interesting that Maplewood Mayor Diana Longrie hopes the days of "no-fault" government are at an end ("Let's have state auditor take a close look at the past 7 years," April 8). She took up 25 percent of an opinion page finding fault with everyone but herself, and defending former city manager Greg Copeland. Is this her definition of leadership? Leaders do not waste time blaming others but instead spend it uniting and guiding others toward an objective. I hardly think naming three council members the "Regime of Three" is productive in meeting this goal. This is not the first time Mayor Longrie has taken up space to defend herself or others under her wing. Hopefully, the next time the people of Maplewood hear from her on these pages, it will be due to her detailing progress instead of defending the past. It would be a much better use of newsprint.
