Hit and run leaves east metro man critically hurt
Police in Maplewood are on the lookout for the car -- and the driver -- involved in a hit-and-run accident that has a man hospitalized in critical condition. According to police: On Saturday about 2:30 in the morning, 28-year-old Haleem Crooks of St. Paul was found lying in the road in the 1700 block of Edgerton Street. Crooks, severely injured, was taken to Regions Hospital in St. Paul by Maplewood emergency response personnel, where he remains in critical condition. Vehicle parts from the passenger-side front fender liner of a 1995 to 1999 Chevrolet Lumina were recovered at the scene. The parts have hot pink paint overspray, and authorities believe this is the car that struck the man.
